Organic Ocean Lavender Silk Pillows and Eye Masks

One EcoStilettoista who shall remain unnamed has been on a 20-year hunt for lavender that smells like the stuff that grew in her grandmother’s back yard. The house is long gone, and this girl has since planted every variety under the sun—from English to French to Napa Valley’s finest—but nothing has that rich, cooling, soothing scent that smells, to her, like home.

Enter Ocean Lavender. Nestled among the hills of the Santa Ynez Valley just north of Santa Barbara is Hacienda Almanecer, a 20-acre ranch devoted to growing 100% California certified organic farmer’s lavender. Apparently derived from Provencal French lavender, Almanecer’s plants breathe in the ocean air and soak up the mineral-rich soil until they become a veritable super lavender: incredibly fragrant, with a deep purple flower and a reputation for a scent that lasts and lasts.

The Almanecer lavender flowers are harvested, dried, and inserted into Ocean Lavender’s luscious silk eye pillows and masks, as well as sachets and pillows that can be tucked into each and every nook of your house until it smells as good as our friend’s grandmother’s used to. Or as amazing as her house does now.
