Living Organic Succulent Wreaths Recycle Into Your Garden

There is nothing that signals the season more than a green wreath on your door. But chances are if you ordered one from a florist, that foliage has been grown with pesticides and insecticides that end up in our ecosystem. And all eco-friendliness aside, the wreaths are cut and made so far ahead of time that they dry out within days, leaving a carpet of sticky pine needles on your welcome mat.
If you’re sick of the stickies, try a living wreath made out of organically-grown cacti and succulents from Wisteria Lane Flowers. They’re sustainable because the plants aren’t “cut” once the wreath has served its purpose; instead customers are encouraged to trim the growth into cuttings that can be planted to start a new garden.
The wreaths can be ordered online. Once on your door they just need to be watered once a week by submersion (mainly so you don’t get drips all over your entry way). If the plants grow away from the shape you like, simply prune the growth and let the “cutting wound” air dry before sticking it into slightly moistened soil to recycle it as part of your new garden.
Truly a gift that keeps on giving.
