You’re working out to feel better—why have the weight of a fat carbon footprint on your conscience? Workout wear that looks great, performs better and makes a positive environmental impact is a better fit all around.
Embracing the tagline “yoga lifestyle apparel with a green conscience,” Alo gear is great for all kinds of exercise—not just down dog. We like their bamboo styles, which are available at Nordstrom, as well as that their warehouse solar panels have reduced more than 65,000 kilo watts of energy since their installation, their recycling policies have diverted over 35,000 cubic feet of fabric from landfills, and the fact that they have no garbage cans—only recycling bins—at their Los Angeles headquarters.

They’re obviously not suitable for running or aerobics, but cute shoes can definitely spice up a walking, yoga-going or low-impact gym experience. As featured when EcoStiletto’s editor Rachel Lincoln Sarnoff appeared on the “Today” show last year, Simple makes shoes from recycled wool, carpet padding and car tires, eco-certified suede and leather and organic cotton. Available at Dillards, these ribbon-laced numbers are inspiration, indeed.
