The Story of Electronics
Annie Leonard’s back with another “Story of Stuff” installment and this one’s a doozy. According to Annie, we’ve all fallen prey to the “designed for the dump” mentality fueling the electronics industry, which manufactures products with PVC, mercury, lead and other nasties that are destined for the landfill within 18 months. This prime suspect of the unsustainable materials economy creates a national production problem of 25 million tons of ewaste each year, which in turn creates life-threatening illnesses on a global level. Scary stuff. (Especially the barfing stick figures, but that’s another story.) Find out more at The Story of Electronics.
