Electric Hybrid Fisker Karma is Our Favorite New Toy
There was a time when our only plug-in toys fit in our pockets. But with the new Fisker Karma launching later this year, the playground just got a whole lot bigger. Why electric, you ask? As with the more affordable Nissan Leaf and the forthcoming Ford Focus EV, electric cars are 100% emission-free and 97% cleaner than gas-powered vehicles, according to Esurance. They also save money: According to Scientific American, the cost of charging an electric car is equivalent to paying 75 cents per gallon in gas. And they save time: The average electric car can go nearly 100 miles on a single charge—think about that next time you’re twiddling your thumbs at the pump. But back to the toy factor: The Fisker is the biggest, baddest, battery-powered turn-on we’ve seen in a long while. And it goes 400 miles per hour. Think on that.
