Livia Firth kicked off her third-annual Green Carpet Challenge at this year’s Golden Globes, in an ongoing quest to put style firmly into the realm of sustainability.
Sound familiar? We thought so, too, when we interviewed Livia in 2010 about how she embodies the EcoStiletto ideal. We’ve followed the gorgeous eco-visionary for the last two years as she evolves her mission.
This year Livia’s out in full force, inspiring Giorgio Armani to create a dress for her—and tux for hubby Colin—from a unique fabric made entirely with recycled bottles. She paired the ensemble with vintage diamond earrings, a conflict-free diamond ring and shoes that she—gasp—wore to last year’s Oscars.
Considering the best actor win from that night, one might just consider those shoes lucky.
Next up? Tom Ford and Karl Lagerfeld, among others, who had pledged to create dresses from upcycled, vintage and otherwise sustainable materials for Livia to wear.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Livia recently tweeted that she’s enlisted others on the red-carpet circuit this season to support her cause—including one Oscar contender.
Seriously, though. Who could say no to her?
