Angela Lindvall: Working Girl

Hello all my fellow ecoistas! I am writing from a very busy week in New York. I hope you are enjoying my blogs. This month I have traveled back and forth to the east coast a few times, and it’s not even close to being over!
I am here shooting the new Kenneth Cole campaign once again. I like that he uses his campaigns to stimulate conscious awareness of different social issues.
I will also do the same sort of thing with the new relationship I am building with ESPIRIT. Since it means “spirit,” I thought working with the brand to inspire hope and peace around the world would be a good fit. I shoot with them on Sunday, and will pitch my ideas. It is so great to be able to utilize the resources we have at hand to inspire!
On top of all this, I am excited to be planning a farm-to-table fundraiser for The Rockland Farm Alliance in conjunction with Above magazine. When I sent out the invite, I was surprised to see how many people are feeling the vibe of getting back to being local, even my lawyer! I think local agriculture is a great start to taking the reins back into our hands and knowing where our food comes from without GMOs and pesticides.
We have some nice plans brewing in my community as well, and I’m happy to lend my experience from the great knowledge I’ve learned through the RFA.
Occupy Wall Street is very exciting to see happen here in NY. I am hoping to go check it out on Saturday. It’s so great to see “the people” take a stand. “We the people” are what this country is based on, and in strength and numbers, as well as where we invest our dollars, we CAN make a difference!
I wish I could say more, but I am swamped with work, so until next week…I send Love…

EcoStiletto’s exclusive EcoCelebrity blogger Angela Lindvall made her debut on the small screen this November as host of Lifetime’s “Project Runway All Stars” with Isaac Mizrahi and Georgina Chapman. As a model, Angela’s chameleon-like qualities have made her one of the most sought-after faces in the world, but her mission has always been to bring a personal interest in sustainability to her professional career. Angela founded the non-profit Collage Foundation to bring national awareness to environmental issues and co-hosted Discovery Channel’s First Planet Green show, “Alter Eco” with Adrian Grenier. A host of the groundbreaking “Be ECO Chic” shows during 2007 New York City Fashion Week, Angela is on the founding board of Natural Resources Defense Council’s “Clean by Design,” an initiative to sustainably revolutionize the textile industry in China. Through the Collage Foundation, she supports various not-for-profit projects including The Rockland Farm Alliance, a global model created for local, sustainably grown food. Angela lives in Los Angeles with her two boys on a small farm, which she is currently developing for sustainable agriculture.
