2007 Archives: Pangea Organics: Eco-Friendly Beauty Products

By now you’ve heard the word: 60 percent of what you put onto your skin is absorbed into your body. If you’re like us, you absorbed that fact and promptly tossed a bathroom’s worth of lotions and potions into the garbage (taking care to properly wash and recycle the containers, of course), then trotted over to Whole Foods to stock up on products free of parabens, toxins and any chemical with a name you can’t pronounce. But here’s the thing about natural beauty products: For those girls with naturally perfect skin, they’re awesome. For those of us with some, well, skin issues (acne, dryness, wrinkles, you name it, we got it), you have to search around a bit to find a line that is as effective as its chemical-laden cousin.
In short? Dr. Bronner’s just ain’t gonna cut it.
Well, ladies, we found the natural skincare solution. Pangea Organics skincare line just plain works. They’ve got exotic flavas for every type of skin—Italian Red Mandarin with Rose for dry, French Chamomile and Orange Blossom for oily and Egyptian Fennel with Rosemary & Mint for demanding (whatever that is, we’ve got it, too)—and a full range of products to back it up. They never use petroleum, sulfates or detergents, synthetic preservatives, artificial colors or fragrances and all their ingredients are organic, cruelty-free and fair-trade whenever possible. Okay but here’s the kicker: they created the very first 100 percent recycled, compostable, biodegradable and plantable packaging. Seriously.
Stick the box in the ground and it comes up African Basil. Who knew?
