2007 Archives: Local Celebrity T-Shirts: Organic, Eco-Friendly Fashion
We love the message of this shirt. We believe that “Respect Your Mother” should be right up there next to “I pledge allegiance.” After all, if we don’t treat this earth with respect she might just dis us back—oh wait, that’s called global warming. Created by Los Angeles based t-shirt company Local Celebrity, the RYM shirt donates to Global Green which, like a true environmental superpower (it was founded by Gorbachev, natch), pledges to stem global climate change by creating green buildings and cities, eliminating weapons of mass destruction and providing safe, clean drinking water for all. It’s made from super-soft 100% organic cotton (we get practically hysterical in our devotion to supporting organic cotton, check out previous posts on Kelly B. and Del Forte) and eco-friendly, water-based inks, the retro 70s design is super fly and the fit is long and lean, just like we wanna be.
