You recognize her on sight, after all she was the face of Maybelline for an unprecedented 10 years, appeared in “The Aviator,” and will hit the small screen in “Dancing with the Stars” this fall, but did you know that Josie Maran is an old-school greenie, eschewing even lipgloss until she was 17 and on the cover of Sports Illustrated?
Learning about cosmetics from the pros, Josie also discovered first hand about the chemicals involved in making makeup and vowed to someday create a line that’s as good for you as it looks on you.

Crafted from organic, biodegradable and sustainable ingredients, free from petrochemicals, artificial fragrances, parabens, toxins and animal testing, Josie Maran Cosmetics launches this month.
Unlike other “natural” cosmetic brands that feature a few key items here or there, Josie’s line is full-spectrum and totally committed, from concealer to blush to eyeliner and everything in between. Plus the packaging is made of corn-based biodegradable plastic, recycled aluminum or glass, and is boxed in recycled paper that’s printed with soy inks.
