2007 Archives: In The Raw: Organic, Sustainable Beauty Products

We’ve loved In The Raw for years, not just for the adorable name, but mainly for their commitment to organic and sustainable ingredients from way back when that type of green ‘tude wasn’t so topical.
Now they’ve got brand new flavors and goodies but still include our old favorites like the Soy Wax Candle that doubles as a cuticle massage oil—you just light it, blow it out after a minute, and rub the warm wax into your cuticles. It’s good for your cuticles and better for your lungs: Soy wax burns cleaner than petroleum-based waxes and longer than paraffin, emits less soot and contains no known carcinogens.
There’s also an Organic Cane Sugar Scrub that’s mildly abrasive, as well as a rougher Organic Turbinado Sugar Scrub with a thicker grain that’s more porous so it absorbs the oils and deposits them onto the skin—and no basic oils here, we’re talking high-potency macadamia, sweet almond and grapeseed, full of antioxidants and mega-moisturizing. We also love the Super Sudsy Bubble Baths with fragrant essential oils that leave us smelling oh-so-sweetly but never perfume-y. No fillers, parabens, glycols or animal testing, recylable glass containers, plant-based preservatives and recycled paper labels. It’s all good!
