You know green’s gone mainstream when you can buy it at Macy’s. And it may just be a marketing ploy on behalf of a mass retailing giant seeking to bolster their share, but if we can help spread the word that organic cotton will sell on a mass level then more power to us. The Purely Organic sheets and towels from Macy’s Haven by Hotel Collection is the company’s first foray into an eco-friendly bedding department, featuring sheets and towels made of 100% organic cotton in gorgeous colors created by eco-friendly dyes. According to the press release it’s all about transforming your home into an oasis of tranquility. We don’t know about that, but we do believe in the power of our pocketbooks to encourage a behemoth retailer to source organic cotton products, thus supporting sustainable agriculture, and transforming ours into a far more tranquil, and less pesticide- and insecticide-heavy, world.
