2007 Archives: Body Bistro: Organic, Sustainable Skincare Treatments

There was a time when green beauty meant castile soap and almond oil. We’ve come a long way, baby, and Body Bistro proves it with products that blend the cutting-edge in scientific research with ancient healing remedies based in Ayurvedic practices.
Carina Chatlani apprenticed for four years with Indian and Tibetan sages in the Himalayan mountains to learn about growing herbs, extracting essences and blending plant oils for medicinal purposes. Back in the U.S. and armed with a degree in Biological Science and Plant Morphology, Chatlani created the cruelty-free, certified organic and vegan Body Bistro line, which focuses on bio-advanced, technologically effective ingredients that support traditional Ayurvedic skincare practices.
Case in point? The Green Apple + Neem Eye Jelly, which seriously reduces puffiness, bags and lines so much so that one of our testers pulled an all-nighter, slapped on some Green Apple and still looked bright eyed and bushy tailed on four hours of sleep. But back to Chatlani, who (speaking of sleepless) also co-chairs the Heal Our Home Foundation, a non-profit that supports underprivileged children and their families. Every year, she makes a pilgrimage to the Himalayas. She had an audience with the Dalai Lama, for goodness sakes.
Green beauty never looked so good.
